Doug is right about the no stick

The reason is that gelcoat is polyester and marine tex is epoxy. Epoxy will stick to gelcoat, but gelcoat will not stick to epoxy.

Marine-Tex is an epoxy and is not guaranteed to adhere to the gel coat resin (according to the MT folks). Bottomline, you can probably do it, but just be aware of this. as long as you sand it to rough up the surface. the gelcoat will stick to it.

Mix Marine-Tex White or Gray and fill the hole 3/4ths deep. Apply a small amount of Marine Tex to the fastener, being sure to fill in around the threads. With a slight twisting motion, insert the fastener in to the hole and allow the epoxy to cure for the full 24 hours.
