This grant program provides a 75%-25% matching grant for the installation and or renovation of marine sewage pumpout stations. Funding is available to marinas (private, commercial, residential and municipal), gas/service docks, fish houses/seafood dealers, and other boat docking facilities.
Marinas that find themselves with increasingly higher maintenance costs should consider applying for funding to replace their existing pump-out stations. During the grant period, 12 new sewage pump-out and sanitary waste dump stations will be installed. The selected funding recipients will be based on the location of the boating facility relative to sensitive waters, discharges of sewage, and the boating activity observed from annual inspections.

Massachusetts – Coastal $1,421,328.00 – The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Marine Fisheries plans to replace two fixed pumpout stations, add three new pumpout stations, replace four pumpout boats, add one new pumpout boat, and replace two pumpout boat engines. They also plan to provide operation and maintenance funding for 97 pumpout operators. They will continue their information and education efforts.
The pump-grant recipients are: Town of Bristol – $23,625 for construction of a new stationary pump-out facility and for operation and maintenance of a pump-out vessel.
